OOOOOOPPPPPPSSSSS!!!!!!!

This is what it looks like when you forget your boots at home....
So, last night as I was working, I noticed that my boots were getting to be very not shiny, so I decided to be a good employee and bring my boots home for a good shining! I told myself, now you MUST remember to bring these boots back to work with you, I even put them in sight, so I would remember them. Did I? Nope. A half hour before I had to leave for work, Rob and I decided to drive seperately to go get some lunch, before I had to go to work. So, we hurried out the door to eat so I would make it to work on time. And guess where my nice and shiny boots sat? Yup, right in sight, where I left them the night before after my wonderful husband shined them up for me. I surely did not notice that I forgot my boots at home until I was at work, in the locker room, all changed into my uniform, about to put my boots on, and *GASP* the shelf where my boots usually sit is empty! OMG! Can you freaking believe I did that? I can...sheesh! So, my new shoes that I wore to work are VERY white (because they are new) and pink. I was soooooo panicking, I must have stood there with my mouth wide open (thinking I cannot believe I forgot them!) for about 5 minutes straight. I scurried around the locker room to see if anyone was in the locker room, that I might be able to borrow their boots for the shift. I found Christina's locker open, (SCORE!) I thought, but no, she has some tiny feet, and only wears a size 6 1/2 boot, and mine is 7 1/2. (Thanks anyway, Christina, I know you wouldn't have minded!) So, then crap, what am I going to do? I called Cheryl, to tell her what I did, and to freak out on the phone, OMG OMG OMG, I cannot believe that I actually forgot my boots, I was thinking I just need something black on my feet under the desk, so Cheryl (the AWESOME person that she is) offered to let me borrow her boots, even though they are way too big for me, I was like I don't care, I just need something black on my feet, so I don't get busted! She came and brought me her boots, and also brought me some black socks to wear, so that I could have something black on my feet, incase I didn't want to wear the boots.....Cheryl, you are a lifesaver!!!! So, please enjoy the picture of the new uniform I just made, and I am going to submit to our boss, (I think he might go for it!)

Rob's Grandma

As some of you may know, Rob’s grandma has not been doing well lately. She was not even expected to make it this long, but yet, seems to amaze us all, until now. When it was April/May, she was starting to deteriorate, and we were just hoping and praying that she would be able to make it to our wedding, and for those of you that were at our wedding know that she was there, and doing okay. But it has just been a waiting game, as she has progressively gotten worse since then. Last night Rob got a call from his mom who said that Grandma is not doing well, and now she is at home, but on Hospice. We all know what happens when someone is in the care of hospice. So we decided that we should go to see her today, because there might not be many more days. We got up and drove there, only to find out that they have had her on morphine, and she is not responding anymore to squeezing her hands or talking to her or anything, she is just lying there like she is sleeping, but in reality, she is in a coma like state, they say she will never wake up again. She sounds like she is breathing liquid, instead of air. It is hard to see, especially since that is kind of how I saw my Dad before he passed. It was very hard to see her that way, I just hope and pray that she knew that we were there today to see her. It is not very often that you can get Rob to go many places and visit people that are sick or anything like that, he usually just keeps saying that he can’t take it seeing someone in pain, or dying or anything. I don’t know what will happen if we ever have kids, and I am in labor! He will be the dad that sits outside or passes out… Anyway, please keep Rob and his family in your thoughts and prayers, as this is a hard time for them, and really for all of us. I pray that she goes peacefully without pain. At least she is at home where she wants to be. She is one of the sweetest and most caring people I have ever met. Live well, Laugh often and Love much

fish belong in water

This is what I came home to at 3:40am on Monday morning. It’s also kind of weird, because I don’t usually turn on all the lights when I come home, and that morning, I did. So, you might ask, is that a fish? The answer is yes. And you might also ask, is that a fish on the floor? And that answer is also yes. I was so weirded (if that’s even a word) out, because I also looked at the fish tank and at that moment, I didn’t see any fish in there, because they were all hiding and sleeping. So once I looked a little closer and saw the fish all hiding in the back behind the plant. So then, here is my thought process after I found the rest of the fish inside the tank, safe and sound. I was thinking ok, there is no way Jewel could get to the tank, and not only that, she is a dog and not a cat. So then, I thought well, maybe the fish died in the tank and Rob took it out and threw it in the toilet and Jewel got it out. But I thought that was really pushing it, since Jewel isn’t the type of dog that drinks out of the toilet or anything either. So then I thought that it must have died in the tank, and Rob took it out and put it in the garbage can, and maybe Jewel took it out then. The reason that came across in my thinking process is because Jewel is not shy of taking things out of the garbage if she smells something good in there. So then I was like ok that’s one possibility….then I was like I just have to wake up Rob and find out what the heck happened here, why is there a dead fish in the middle of the living room floor, I mean I know that it’s really late/really early however you want to look at it, and I know that I am probably really tired right now, but I do know that fish belong in water, not on the floor. So I woke Rob up and asked him “what’s going on with the black fish in the middle of the floor?” I know I woke him up from a good sleep, he kind of just looked at me at first, like what are you talking about. So after I asked him about 3 times, he said “is it the Dalmatian looking fish?” I said “no, just the all black one. It is lying on the living room floor, dead. What happened?” He said “I don’t know, it must have jumped out of the tank and flopped around till it died.” I was like seriously?? “But there is a cover on the tank, how does that happen?” He said “through the holes in the back by the filter.” Since it was almost 4 o’clock in the morning, I was just leaving it at that. I picked up the fish and put him in the garbage can, and he promised he would take the garbage out today. So, all in all, apparently our fish committed suicide…..life must really be bad in the tank….he said F this, I am outta here! Live laugh love

Fishing on Weds, 09/09/09

The reason I took this picture, is because I thought the sky looked cool, I promise, the clouds were not really that dark....here it looks even cooler, with the darker clouds....I am telling you I can do it all by myself, I am a BIG girl now!!! (come on, you damn fish, let me have my hook back)
Whew! Finally got the fish off the hook, and now I can show you!! It was the bass of the day, because Rob never even caught a bass that day, that was the first day I have gone with him, and he didn't catch a bass, he did catch a northern though, but it wasn't big enough to really take a picture of. I also caught a rock bass that day, that thing was weird to catch, it didnt fight like a bass, nor did it look like a bass, I thought I caught a blue gil or something. Rob was like do you kwow what that is, I was like um, a fish, but dont ask me what kind, I couldn't tell ya! That's when he said it was a rock bass, and it was interesting, he hasn't seen one of those in Bangs lake for a long time.....yup, that means leave it to me, if it's there, I will catch it! So my catches for the day were 2 nice size bass, and a rock bass. Rob only caught one Northern. But I still had fun fishing with my husband!
This is my being bored again, I was taking a break from fishing, so that Rob could catch a bass, though it still didn't happen, it's ok. This is what I call the pity party, cause there have been more than one time when he stopped fishing, and even gave me the front of the boat to use the trolly motor, so I could go whereever I wanted to catch fish....this usually happens when he has smoked me for the day. And I just want to catch ONE more fish!!!! I told Rob that he had to say what I always say when it has been a while since we caught a fish, it goes like this: "Here fishy fishy fishy" in a high voice, I was like that is what you have to say if you want to catch one, come on, say it.....he just kinda looked at me with a smirk, apparently he thought I was funny, or cute, but I was serious....then he told me that him and his friend Sam made up a song to catch carp, it is something with a lot of "cooo's" in it......weird! I was cracking up when he sung it for me! It was pretty funny.
I also thought the sky was cool. So now here I am, that wasted another hour for me, so now it is 2:03am, and that means that I get to go home in one hour!! Woo Hoo!!! I will just keep writing to waste some more time, hope you have nothing to do but read this cool blog of mine!!
I must just write and tell you all how proud of my sister I am, she was asking me what it's like to be a dispatcher, and of course, she hears some of my crazy stories, like the one I will tell you in a little bit, but she seemed pretty interested, so when I see postings come up for other towns, I send them to her, the first few, she ignored, but this last one, she got serious, she updated her resume, and sent it to them!!!!!! I am so proud of her, it is the first step to A) making more money, B)working CRAZY hours, C) becomming crazy! Yay!!! Props to my little sister!!!!! I am sooooo proud of you!!!
Ok, now on to my crazy story, this is an actual call I got tonight, I really thought it was a prank, but seriously, the girl was really not pranking me, she was serious! Here's how it goes:
RING RING
ME: "[Insert what I say when I answer the phone, but not putting it in here, so it doesn't attract attention....]"
HER: "Hi, um I was just wondering, who do I call, I think there is a tick in my room, AND I'M NOT TOUCHING IT, who would I call for that?"
ME: "A TICK?!?!????"
HER: "Yeah"
ME: "Um, you wouldn't call the police, we don't handle insects."
HER: "Ohhhhh.....Ok, thank you."
CLICK
No joke that was a real call.....so then I sent the Commander a message, and I said,
"This lady on the phone wants to know who she calls for a tick in her room.....?? I told her I would send the Commander...ok?"
he said "yeah, no" then he said "kleenex"
Seriously, people think we make these things up, man, I am telling you, I couldn't make that up if I tried! Hope you enjoyed the good laugh!
Ok, done, 2:16am, only 45 minutes left! yay!

Fishing last weds, 09/02/09

Here are some pics from our fishing last wednesday....it was a foggy morning, as you can see, but it cleared up pretty quickly, and then was pretty warm and sunny. Here we are first thing driving in the boat to our first "spot" to start fishing.
Me, taking the fish off of the hook, which seems to be what some people don't believe that I do it myself!
Rob and his bass
This is what happens when you et bored of fishing.....I just wanted to take pictures, and you can only take so many pictures of the lake and surroundings....so this is what you get, he he!
And for those of you who are wondering, yes, I do wear that pink Bass Pro Shops shirt every week, why get the rest of my shirts all weeded up, there are green stains on that shirt already from the slimy weeds you get sometimes that are annoying, so I put them on my shirt, what the heck, it's not like I am wearing that shirt for a fashion statement or anything....he he!
Looks like I might be doing 2 posts tonight, I am at work for my day #2 of 12 hour shifts, I only have 2 hours left, woo hoo!!!! But still have 2 more days of 12 hours after today....it gets old quick, but hey, seems to be good $ with OT!
So that's that, I will post the next one in a few minutes, not like any of you care, you are all at home tucked snuggly in your comfy beds, snoring away (I know, I can hear you from here!) considering it is 1:16am, and I am here till 3 tonight, or should I say this morning?!?! Live Laugh Love

"Are you feeling okay?"

I woke up today to my husband asking me if we had pancake mix. When I told him yes in the cabinet, he was quiet, then he asked do we have syrup? I answered I think so, so I checked the fridge, yup there was syrup too. I pulled out the box of pancake mix, and put it on the counter. He looked and was confused about why it needed oil to make, so I pulled out the oil out of the cabinet for him too. I said I am going to take a shower, when I came out of the shower, he had pancakes made for me and pancakes and eggs made for him. They were yummy too! I wanted to ask him, “Are you feeling okay?” After the comment he made to some of our friends that “I don’t know how to cook, so I like Jen to do the cooking”…I guess we found out that if you can read directions, then you can cook!!!! Oh, and I should mention that lately, he has been making more than just bowls of cereal for himself, he is finally realizing that there are things in the cabinet that are not hard to make for yourself, or for us. It doesn’t have to be a gourmet meal every time! My hubby is learning! Live, laugh and Love!

4 down, 8 to go!

BLAH! Today I am at work working 12 hours. The time today seems to be crawling by….so I have been here for 4 hours and have 8 more to go…..woo hoo…not! Last night, I realized that I had a funny story to tell, from last Sunday morning, so I thought I would share it with you. Now it could be that “you had to be there” kind of thing, but we were cracking up, and me a bit embarrassed…. My mom was in town and we decided to go have breakfast at Cracker Barrel on Sunday morning before she left on Tuesday. We (mom, me, Kim, Adam and Grandma) met there at 10am and were sat at a 6 person table for 5 of us. So after some musical chairs, we were situated, and started to look at the menu. See picture I drew up....
Our server comes over, a nice 40 something woman, and takes our drink order. Everyone orders what they want, and she returns with our drinks. Well, it was a bit humid that day, and I ordered a sweet tea, and of course my glass was sweating. I put a bit more sugar in the tea, because it wasn’t so sweet that day. So then our server came back, to take our food orders, and I decided that my tea was in the way, so I went to pick it up and move it from my left side to my right side by the wall, well, this is as our server was taking Grandma’s order. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, there was a loud crash, and you hear a glass hit the table and ice flying and something that sounded like liquid running. Yup, that was me…..absolutely me, the 30 year old adult that just spilled her drink all over the table. How embarrassing. Well, needless to say, everyone stopped to STARE at me, my face turned beat red (a shade that looked like THIS) I just started cleaning up my mess with my napkin, then napkins just started flying at me, as I looked over at our server she just shook her head, then went to the back, and when she arrived back again, she had towels in her hand, and her tray. As she was cleaning off the table that I had just spilled tea and ice all over, she was yelling at me, like I was her child, but we were all CRACKING up, she was hilarious! It went something like this: “Oh my God, can’t take you anywhere, you are just like a little kid, and how old are you? Spilling your drink all over the place like you are 2 years old, I can’t believe this, and now I have to clean it up for you! There now, don’t spill anymore, what? You want more to drink? Can you handle it without spilling? I doubt it!” We were laughing so hard, and here I am so damn embarrassed still…...she leaves and returns with a little kids sippy cup thing, it is like ¼ of the size of the regular glass, it’s plastic and has a top on it, and a place for your straw. Now we were really cracking up! When she comes back she says “Here, now don’t spill this time! Can you handle not spilling with this cup?” Now, let me tell you that she was not quiet at all what-so-ever whenever she was talking to me, it was like a mother scolding me, as my mom sat next to me laughing the whole time.
So we go on about our ordering process and then our meal comes, and we are eating, every time she comes back to our table, to check on us, she asks if I have spilled my drink yet, then as we are almost done with our meal, she brings me an adult cup, and makes me promise not to spill this time.
We finish our meal and are sitting there talking when she came back to the table, to make sure all is ok, and my grandma told her that she must like her job, because she had us laughing the whole time. She said yes, I do love my job, and I also work at Ruby Tuesdays doing the same thing, I popped up and said I used to work there years ago, she said oh, how come you left, I said “I got a real job” and before I could realize what I said was not cool, her mouth was opened and she was like “ugh”. I was so stupid and embarrassed again, once I realized what I said…..I tried to back track and “what I meant to say was that I got a real job (said it once again) you know, like an office job, where you sit at a desk and stuff?” OPEN MOUTH INSERT FOOT HERE she was laughing and said after all the things that I did for you today, this is how you treat me? Now, mind you, she still was not quiet with anything she said, and everyone around us was laughing at us and at her. She told me that she is going to keep an eye out for me and will be sure to tell her colleagues about me when I come to either restaurant that she works at. Hilarious! Ok, now that I have written all that for you, now I only have 6 ½ hours left…..so now, 5 ½ down, 6 ½ to go.

08/19/09 Bangs lake

Here it is, my "big" fish...
And a close up of it...though Rob chopped off my head in both!
On our fishing day on wednesday, we went to Bangs, our normal place, and this time, I got my way, and I met Rob there at 8am, instead of waking up at 5am...yipee! He was not so happy that I came late, but I think he was happy that I would at least go at all. So I met him there at 8, and I was a much happier person! When I got there, I told him I don't want none of those "fishing" stories, and he told me that he never lies about how many or how big of fish he catches. So he told me that from 5-8, he caught 3 bass and 1 northern...then when I got there, apparently the fish turned off. We did not catch anymore until later on, about 11 or 1130 when we went on the other side of the lake. Then he caught 3 more, and I was so damn frustrated, that I was ready to go home. Then all of a sudden, BAM! there was a fish! woo hoo! Then another and Rob says that was the biggest one of the day, so please enjoy the pics of it.

Our day on Countryside Lake

Here is Rob fishing
One of Rob's many bass that day.
One of my 4 small bass
Here is a really cool house that is on an island, and must drive on a bridge to get to......and below is the bridge you have to drive on to get to the house. This house has a boat garage under it, so cool, just pull in the garage door and put your boat in, and close the garage door, it is under the house, where you see the small round windows. It was built on the rocks there....it is so cool!
Here are just some pics from last wednesday when we fished Countryside lake, now that we have an "in", because it is a private lake that Rob heard had HUGE bass in it, though it didn't prove to us on wednesday, but there was something that bit off a couple worms and hit Rob's line pretty hard....it is funny when that happens, because it makes you wonder what is lurking under the water that you can't see....I always tell him it is a shark, but of course we all know that isn't true! Anyway, we had a great time, and we used a friends boat, it was super fun, and let me just tell you that I am amazed at the BEAUTIFUL houses that are on that lake, and it's private! SO JEALOUS!!!!!

Bangin’ on Bangs Lake

I won the prize for catching the biggest weed clump! I am good at that!
My other Bass and my hair EVERYWHERE!!!!!! It was pretty humid that day, that's my excuse for the crazy hair.
My Bass
All of the pics above are from last week, Rob and his big crappie.
Below is my story from this week...
We went out on the boat fishing on Wednesday, as usual at about 5am. When we went out on the lake it was still dark and there was a pontoon boat anchored, and we paid no attention, since there were other fishing boats on the lake too. So we went on our way to the spot where we were going to fish, and after a while it started to get light out, and we noticed that the people on the boat had put up a red sheet or blanket kind of thing. When I saw that, I thought maybe the people needed help, and Rob thought nothing of it, so we kept on fishing, and we saw nothing for about 2 hours, then all of a sudden, there was a guy on the boat who took the sheet down, and the girl was just putting her shirt back on. Then they were like cleaning up the boat a little, and folding all the blankets they had, and we thought they were leaving, because they went towards the launch, and much to our surprise, there was a second guy on the boat! OMG! There were 2 guys and a girl on the boat….interesting…..they had dropped off one guy and a little while later, that same boat went flying across the lake with only a guy and a girl and Rob said oh those are the people that make the wake all the time before 10am, and I said yeah, and those are the fuckers! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!! We were cracking up. Attached are some pics from last weeks fishing trip, I don’t have any to post right now from this week, I will post them soon, I have some pretty pics of the sunrise. Oh, and the most important part of our fishing day was that I caught more fish than Rob! Yay! However, I must admit now that Rob did have the “catch of the day” he caught about a 5 pounder. It was HUGE!!! I caught 5 bass, and 1 northern, and Rob only caught his 1 big bass, and 1 northern. He took me to one area, and I was “slammin’” them, as he would say, I caught 2 in a row, it was great, especially to see his face, and the look of amazement! Then we moved a little and bam another one right away! Woo hoo!!! I won for the number of fish, and I had great pride, especially since he usually smokes me in the number of fish, and I always get jealous!

CRUNCH CRUNCH CRUNCH

That is the sound I hear at this point in the day….it is after 3, so most of you know what that means, it means that I am listening to my co-worker chew….this is the not so bad part, I mean it’s loud, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not as bad as when this person is eating something else, like fruit for instance. Anyway, Rob and I tried some new kind of food today for lunch. We went to a place called Tajine Casablanca. It is in Vernon Hills, it is some type of Mediterranean food. I was up for the challenge, since I like to try new things, so we went there, it was a really cool atmosphere, the walls were painted like reddish and goldish colors, and we sat at a little table, that had those chairs that sit low to the ground, on nice cushiony seats with pillows for the backs. Very interesting, and so was the food. Rob ordered for me, because he thought he would know what I would like. So we got the same thing, don’t ask me what it was, I mean, I think it was like chicken something and beef something…it was ok, but I surely wouldn’t go back and get the same thing for the $30 that we paid. I only liked part of it, not all of it, there was something cooked with curry, and that really was not something I liked, Rob said it was chicken, didn’t look or taste like chicken. There was also what I thought might be chunks of beef, and I ate one, and almost couldn’t swallow it, I just didn’t like the taste….oh well. Tomorrow, Rob wants to try the Indian joint down a few stores from that. I am a little hesitant, considering the Mediterranean food is not sitting too well with me now. But we will see, I will write and let you know how that goes if we do decide to eat there. So, anyway, we never ended up eating at the Indian place, but we did end up going fishing on Wednesday morning….didn’t catch too many fish, but we had a good time, and Rob was in a good mood, so that helped, cause then he doesn’t get so mad if I get a line twist or backlash, or whatever they are called…..he he! He keeps changing his story whether I am a good or bad “fisherwoman”, depending on his mood, and how good or bad I do in his mind. I am hoping to be the “expert angler” soon. We will see what he thinks! Anyway, then we went over to our friends house, and at a yummy dinner, and played wii bowling and got our butts kicked! Majorly! I guess that’s all for now, sorry I haven’t written in a while, been busy busy with what I don’t know, but it seems that way, anyway. Now I am at work, and might as well be working by myself, because we have a new part-timer here being trained on a whole bunch of nothing, considering she and the “trainer” are just exchanging life stories. Great, huh? It is really FRUSTRATING!!!!! I surely am soooooooooo happy that today is my Friday!!! Yay!!! I guess that’s all for now, I am going to see what I have here to make for dinner, even though I can’t eat until after my partner does, because otherwise, I end up not eating it, or wanting to throw up, because of what I wrote in my first sentence! GROSS!!!!!

Bummer

What a CRAZY couple weeks! First, we had part of the gigantic maple tree in our back yard fall on our house, fence and across the neighbors driveway. Luckily they did not have any cars stacked up on that part of the driveway, like they normally do. That probably would have been un-called-for damage on at least 2 cars. We were also lucky that there was no damage to our house, just to our pocketbooks as they say, in order to get that huge part of the tree cut down. Then we had the air conditioner motor stop working, so we called the guy out to check it out and come to find out that it was not worth fixing, the thing was older than me and Rob, and it was a model that normally would be used for a condo, not a 3 story house!!!! So we had to spend most of our wedding money on a new air conditioner. BUMMER!!!! There goes the honeymoon that I have been begging for. But the good thing that we are hoping to see is a huge savings in our energy bill. Not only that, it no longer sounds like a MAC truck coming through every time the air turns on. Now, it seems to be quieter than our vacuum! Not to mention that while at work we were getting our butts kicked! Seriously! Craziness!!! We did a little yard work on my days off, I know, it’s amazing, this time I am not writing about how I can’t get him to mow the lawn….this time, we did it together, he mowed, I weed whacked (however you spell that) and there was teamwork involved here! First time in a while, then Rob had been wanting to do something about the area of dirt and weeds that was next to the house in the backyard, so we dug up all the weeds, laid down some week b gone stuff that stops the weeds from sneaking through, and then we got some white marble stones and filled in that area. It looks SOOOOOOO much nicer now that it is done, not to mention, it didn’t cost an arm and a leg, like the first 2 paragraphs of my blog today! After doing the yard work on the hottest day of the year, we went fishing at what Rob calls the “secret pond”. Well, it’s only a secret if you don’t live in that neighborhood, cause let me tell you, it seems that EVERYONE saw me catch the first fish (and last fish for that matter) I caught it, and there were a couple softball teams on top of the hill, and some people walking and jogging and riding bikes, that all had to stop and see me catch the fish, I mean don’t get me wrong, it was cool and all, and it was just a little bass, but this sucker was going crazy!! The problem was that I have just learned how to take the bass off the hook by myself (for those of you out there, yes this means that I touch the fish myself too!) So here I am, just caught a little crazy bass, and trying to take if off the hook by myself and all eyes on me, and the stupid thing would not stop jumping, I could barely stabilize it to get the hook out, so I was all flustered and nervous, that I had to call Rob over to help me. He of course did it with no problem, and was the hero! That was fun, then yesterday, we went to the other pond, with my sister and her husband, and I caught quite a few crappie and blue gill! That was fun! Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much!

Cherry arctic rush and onion rings for breakfast

So there I was, driving to Jordan’s house to an all day scrapbooking event, when I realized I hadn’t called her yet to tell her I was on my way, so I called, and she said she had to leave to pick up Kaitlyn and that she would leave the door open. I thought, ok, perfect, then I have time to stop at Starbucks and get some breakfast….so I checked with my handy dandy navigation in my car to see where the closest Starbucks was, because I wasn’t picturing in my head where there was one in Round Lake anywhere. Well, that’s because there aren’t any! Can you believe that in most towns around here, there are at least 2 Starbucks somewhere to get a nice fresh tasty cup of coffee or tea, whatever your preference….but not in Round Lake, there is not one! Since I was already in Round Lake, my car told me that the nearest one was 4.1 miles away in Grayslake, and don’t get me wrong, Grayslake is not far, but I was all ready to be scrapbooking, so I didn’t want to go too far out of the way, considering also that Jordan left the door open for me. So I decided that it was 11:00am, and that dairy queen should be open, so I went to Dairy Queen, and the sign said open at 10:30am everyday……SCORE! I pulled to the drive thru and ordered my very nutritious breakfast that consisted of a cherry arctic rush and onion rings. Yummy!! So there I was, sitting on the couch at Jordan’s eating my onion rings, and enjoying my cherry arctic rush, and in come the kids, and Jordan, and of course, there is no “Hi Auntie Jenny” this time, nope, the first thing I heard was “what is that?” with their eyes staring and fingers pointing and mouths drooling……at this point, I finally figured out that once you have kids, you MUST SHARE EVERYTHING!!!!!! There is nothing that is just yours anymore…..and they are not even my kids!!! I also brought some candy, that Jordan and I like to eat while scrapbooking, and who do you think ate most of it? Nope, not us, it was them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, I am sooooooooooooooooo not having kids! Don’t get me wrong, I love them to death, but really, must I share EVERYTHING????? Someone help me out here??!?!?!?!?!?!?! Is this what it's really like? Nothing is yours anymore? Live, Laugh, Love

Overtime City

So I don't have much to blog about lately, since I have been working like crazy! Overtime city baby! Anyway, tomorrow is my friday, and I am so happy to be off for 2 days on Tuesday and Wednesday, since I worked 16 hours yesterday, and 12 today. Hopefully it won't rain on my days off this week like last week, and it seems the week before, but please forgive me as I might not really be able to remember back that far, considering that it feels like I have only been working with no time off lately....I only had one day off this week, which was Tuesday, and I know for sure that it rained that day, because I cleaned the bathroom, and some of the kitchen, then I started switching out our old stuff for some new stuff, and now, I just can't wait to use some of that new stuff. I did at least use one baking pan, I was being a good wife, and made my hubby some brownies. He enjoyed them, but I made them too fudge-like, so I didn't eat many, as I like them more cake-like....if you understand what I mean. This week, I am hoping to go fishing with Rob on Tuesday, and then I think I am going to go scrapbooking at Jordan's house on Wednesday. I was going to go to the "Park on Park" with my brother and sister, but Kim has to work on Wednesday night, so ixnay on that one. For those of you that don't know what "Park on Park" is , it is a car show that is held in Mundelein every second wednesday of the month throughout the spring and summer months. We all used to go with my Dad and see all the old cars, and as most of you know, that was one of my Dad's passions, was old cars. He was just amazing, let me tell you, he could tell you the year, make and model of any car you wanted to know, just by looking at it, even from a distance. I think thats all for now, not much that I can think of to write about, except........OUR WEDDNG PICS ARE UP! WOO HOO!!!!!! Check them out: at pictage.com, you have to log into the guest book first, then you can view them, and order pics online too, if you are interested! Live, laugh, love!

Seriously?

Today, I was thinking, that I feel that fishing has taken over Rob's life! He doesn't want to do anything unless it has to do with fishing, for example, he is either actually fishing (which, dont get me wrong, I LOVE to do!), going to Bass Pro Shops to buy something for the boat or for fishing, or sitting on the couch, watching fishing shows!!!!!! AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Someone please help me to get him to snap out of it and realize that there is more to life than that! I mean, it used to be golf, but honestly this year, he has not gone golfing for about 4 or 5 weeks so far. Not only that, but this is the first year that I have had to beg him to cut the grass! I have been begging him and asking him for about 4 days now, and always says he's gonna do it, but it never gets done! Aside from doing it myself, which I did about a week after we were married, as he lay on the couch sleeping, I don't know what to do! Then he thinks that I am bothering him and nagging him, and that is not the case, its just that I dont want to look like the slackers on the block, seeing as though the neighbors on each side of us do nothing but work on their yard, then here's ours in the middle, looking quite shabby. I would just do it again, myself, but I don't know how to do it right like him. He empties the bag every couple swipes across the yard, and I guess I could, but how do you know if the dang thing is full, if you can't see in it, and then there's the other thing, why empty it if it is not full? I mean, that is just silly, having to do more work than necessary? That should not happen....... The next thing is that our shower curtain has been falling down for the past 3 weeks or so, it is the rod, but it is new, so instead of throwing $50 out the door, he has been trying to fix it, well, there have been questionable days, that I am not sure I am going to be able to take a shower, because the thing is either half way down, or had already fallen down. For example, last night, it fell completely down again, and Rob put it in the other room until he could fix it, (and don't get me wrong, I know he is sick of fixing it) but then this morning he woke up and went to Bass Pro Shops (see what I told you) and he came home and sat on the couch to watch fishing (see????) so I asked him if he could fix it so that I could take a shower today, and he said uuuuggggghhhhhh, I was like I am sorry, but I need to take a shower, what do you want me to do? He told me to take a bath.....ok, now for all you girls out there, you know what it's like to try to get shampoo and conditioner out of your hair....so I said, um that won't work, how do you expect me to get the shampoo out of my hair? He told me to use a cup! OMG!!!!!! I was instantly mad at him for the rest of the day, and before I walked away, I said ok, you try having this hair, and see how you would like trying to get shampoo out with a CUP! Needless to say, he fixed the shower curtain! Hope you liked my story of my day. Yes, I apologized to him, but seriously! Live, Laugh and Love, I know this will be one to laugh at!

Here we are, the married couple!

some needed updates!

So the last time I wrote, I had just gotten married, and that's all I had time to write. Today I decided to do an update, I figured since Christina can update her blog, and she is at home with an 8 year old, a 1 year old and a 1month old, then I surely can find time to update my own. So here I am, a married woman! It feels weird, only when I say "my husband" he he! Married life is good and fun, so far except for the day that I mowed the lawn, while my new husband slept on the couch. Yeah, that day wasn't so fun. Anyway, otherwise it has been great, we didn't take a honeymoon as some of you know, we just stayed home, and seemed to go fishing everyday that we could. This weird thing I learned is that I LOVE to fish!! It is super fun, I guess its just first, learning how to throw certain reels, and then there is what lure you use to for different fish, and also, whatever the conditions are means you then also have to decide what reel to use. It's craziness!!! So, I guess you could say our honeymoon consisted of fishing. We bought a slip at Bangs lake and decided to keep Rob's boat there. It is only 10 minutes from our house, so it's easy to go and fun! Hopefully this year, I will have a good tan, since other years, I looked like a ghost, with no tan, especially last year, because I worked midnights, and then sleep during the day......horrible, I really hope I never have to do that again. Anyway, so let's see, what else did we do? I got my name changed, yay! I am officially Mrs. Jennifer Kniskern! yay! but Mrs. makes me feel old! he he! Rob also helped me get my dad's tax check cashed, we had lots of trouble with that......but I won't go into it. I am back at work, I have been back here since Thursday. I had 3 weeks off, and it did seem like it at the end of the vacation, but now that I am back at work, it doesn't seem like I actually had 3 weeks off. The wedding was GREAT! We had fun, and everything went pretty well! The only thing that I could really complain about is my make up. I got some pictures from some people, and my face looks like I have a disease. It is red in some places and make up in other places. It's just really bad, oh well, I know that it can be fixed, so that's what we will have to do......photoshop, here I come! The time went so fast, but we had a blast!! I can't wait to see the pictures, and the video! Just so you all know, the pictures should be up on pictage.com around June 9 or so. I will update you all when that happens! Until then, apparently, I will be working lots of overtime.......though we need it, I want to be outside on nice days!!! It is the summer after all! Ok, I think that's it for now, I will get going and if I think of more to write, I will, otherwise, bye for now! Live, Laugh, Love!

sorry for the long delay

Hi all, sorry for the long delay in writing a blog, aparently some people think I have nothing better to do than write on my blog......news flash! I am planning a wedding, remember?!?!? You know who you are!!! he he!! Ok, so here I am today, and I have to think of what has happened in the last 20 days or so.....lets see, busy busy, I had to get pictures together and music together for our video montage that will be displayed at the wedding, all at the same time, we had all the vendors calling to schedule meetings with us, because EVERYONE wants to meet one month before the wedding...so, we met with the Pastor 2 more times, and we have one more to go, next tuesday. We got a lot accomplished, and I feel that Rob and I learned some things about each other, that was fun and good for us. Then we had a meeting with the Arboretum Club and wow, that was a mess! At that point, I was so freaking stressed that I couldn't see straight, and these people wanted to sit us down with someone who doesn't know anything about us or our wedding, and it all came spiraling out of control, that was my tears at least. I couldn't help it, they just kept coming, I think the biggest reason was because Rob FINALLY understood what I meant when I was telling him that every place I go to, I am put with the second or third best person, and that was not okay anymore. I am tired of explaining everything when they have it all written somewhere, or someone else knows about it. It just gets old, so anyway, after I cried and Rob said something to them, they put us with the person who knows all about our wedding. It went amazing then, she told us how everything works, and what we needed to know, and we let her know what we wanted. So, that is all done so far. In the meantime I had the run around with the salon that we were all booked through.....it was a nightmare, so I switched salons, and all is good now, I went this last tues for another hair and make up trial, and it was GREAT!!!!! We also have met with the DJ, and we are now accumulating songs to be played, and also met with the organist, and I am so excited, she was great, and really knows her stuff!! I had a few dress fittings and now I have my dress back, and it fits perfectly! I can't wait to wear it!! It is getting sooooooo exciting! Today, we have the programs being printed, and they will be ready for us on wednesday, then I can start tying the bows on those too! Jordan and Cheryl came over on this last Saturday, and helped me get the favors all ready and all the bows are tied on those, they are all ready to go. Today, Rob and I went to find something for the guys. That was a freaking nightmare, inside Things Remembered, because of course, prom is coming up, and apparently, these high school girls dont have to attend school so they can hang out at the mall when us adults are trying to get things done. rrrggghhh!!!! Now, let me run this by everyone, I have never heard of this, and call me old, but I think it is just wrong! These girls are there and apparently it is some kind of tradition now that the girls buy their dates a flask for a prom gift, now tell me if that makes sense, these guys cant drink for at least 3 more years, WTF? Anyway, I think thats about it for now, not much else to say except that OMG it is only 12 days away!!!!!! Live, Laugh, Love

Busy busy weekend...Tues and Weds!

So, my weekend of Tuesday and Wednesday were pretty busy this week! Tuesday, I went shopping with Jordan and the kids, then we met Brian at the tux place in Schaumburg to get measured, where they were not so nice to us at first, so once I spoke to the guy like he was speaking to me, I think he got it and started treating us a little better....we did LOTS of shopping and then ate at the Cheesecake Factory. It was yummy as usual! except that the only cheesecake I like is their pumpkin cheesecake and of course, they only have it in Nov and Dec.....so I got no dessert, but thats ok, cause I couldn't finish my meal, probably because either a) it was FREEZING in there or b) the guy practially took my plate out from in front of me.....anyway, got some stuff we needed that day. On Wednesday, my sister and I had an appt at 1:30 for Kim's second fitting and my first one!!!! Yay!!!! They went pretty well, but first I have to tell you what we did before our appointments, we went to JC Penney to look for a dress for me to wear to my shower. Libby says I have to wear a dress, well she and everyone else knows how much I love wearing dresses! I don't!! Ok, so I am going to fancy this idea and see what I can find at the store, I went one other time and found a pretty off white dress that was cute, but a little big in the top area, and under my arms. So I tried that one on for my sister, and a whole bunch more, we probably had about 6 dresses at first, and Kim liked 2 out of those, but I still wasn't sure. So we went to see what kind of shirt we could find to go with this little jacket thing I found, we tried that for a while, then gave one last look at the dresses, and Kim found this one and said let's just try it, and I found one more, so between the 2 dresses, we loved them both! But Kim liked the first one, the one that she picked, it is strapless and very cute! Then I tried them both on with the little jacket I found, and the one she picked was SUPER cute with the jacket. So, that's what I got! I LOVE it and when Libby called I made sure she knew that she should thank Kim for being patient with me and helping me pick out a dress!!! Yay! I am excited about the shower, and can't wait to see those of you that can come there!!! Ok so on to the dress fittings, Kim's was a little too small for her the first time we went for her fitting, because they measured her wrong, well, thank goodness, the lady at the alterations place was amazing! this time it was a little too big on her, and so we know when we go next time, it will be perfect!! It looks sooooo much better on her than before!!! So excited! Ok so on to mine, I of course got the lady that doesn't speak much english, and she is very abrupt and not so kind, well I know this is my first fitting, and so we will see how the rest go with the other lady that I requested from now on, she is the one that worked on my sisters dress, and it turned out amazing! Well, this time the abrupt lady worked on my dress, but she didn't seem to care too much, she was really sloppy. So, lets just see what the dress is like when I go for my second fitting. Hopefully ok! Live, Laugh, Love!

pelted with snow

I am sitting here freezing, and have been since I woke up today....don't know if I am getting sick or what, but I have also been sneezing all day long too. So, I started off my day today with my alarm waking me up at 8am this morning, because it was on battery mode. Yup, that meant that we woke up with no power, nice. And we look outside only to find about 6 inches of snow on the ground. But snow wasn't the only thing on the ground.....lots of branches, and branches that were still attached to the tree, were all hanging low... this is probably the heaviest snow we have had this year. And seriously, on March 29?!?!?! Doesn't Mother Nature know that I am trying to plan a beautiful May wedding?? She is not helping much with this snow! We thought we were done, but she didn't think so... Anyway, so yes, we woke up with no power, which means no heat, brrrrrr and no sump pump, eeeeeeek! Then that also means that our fishies were freezing too!! Then, as Rob and I were outside doing our good deed, and helping the older man across the street with his driveway and the heavy snow, we saw 2 Com Ed trucks drive by, boy were we happy to see them!! After about 5 hours with no power, it clicked back on at about 1pm. Just in the nick of time, so I could take a shower and get to work on time.... So, while on my way to work, the snow is falling from the trees, because the wind is blowing, and so when the snow falls, it is freaking heavy, and falls hard. Probably about 8 times, I felt like the snow that my car is being pelted with was gonna come through my sunroof!! Either that or damage my car with a few dents in it! So that's my story for today, but I must give props to Cheryl, who helped me through a difficult day yesterday (long story) and my sister who I have talked to almost everyday, who is doing her best to keep me sane through these crazy stressful times of planning a wedding!!! And I must not forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHRISTINE!!!!!!!! I miss you!!!!!!! So, everyone, please Live Well, Laugh Often and Love Much!!!!

OUCH!!!

Tuesday was a weird day for me... first, we went bowling like we always do, or usually do.....as we were bowling, all of a sudden, I got a bloody nose, just like when I was a kid, I used to get them all the time...weird, I am chalking it up to the stupid winter that won't go away....anyway, then I needed some adjustments done to my thumb hole, so after we were done bowling, I took my ball down to the pro shop where the guy John (really cool guy and good at what he does) changed my insert out and made it better for me, so while waiting and after winning a game of air hockey with my brother, I went and picked up my ball, well, everything was good, and I brought my ball out to my bag, and I couldn't tell you what happened next, as all of a sudden, I dropped my 15 pound bowling ball on my toes!!!!!!!!! OMG, let me tell you that freaking hurt soooooooo bad!!!! So as I am standing there, trying not to cry, who else, but my lovely Fiance decides to tell me that I am an idiot for dropping my ball on my own freaking toes!!!! Now, really let's think about this, do you really think that I would do this on purpose?!?!? H-E-L-L-O!!!! Ok so after that, as I limp out of the bowling alley, we decide to go and eat lunch, we went to On the Border, and Rob's mom sat across from me, and the person with the shortest legs, kicked my bad foot about 4 times. OMG, I wanted to cry!!! I know she didnt mean to but man, it hurt!!! Well, thats all for today, hope you are all doing good! Love, Laugh, Love!

unity candle and holders

Long time, no blog.....

Monday means it' friday for me!!! Yay! Anyway, I just thought I would talk about stuff...yeah, just stuff. Nothing specific. So the other night, I think Cheryl and I had the BUSIEST night we have ever had, I mean we have had some doozies before, but this night was insane, that was last friday. First, we came in to someone picked up on a warrant, and had to send messages to see if county would come pick them up, so once that was handled, it seemed that EVERY officer on the road was trying to see how many traffic stops they could make, so one after the other after the other after the other. Now, at this time I surely cannot remember the timeline of these events, but here we go, we had another person who was stopped and wanted, so we had messages to send about them. 2 DUI's, a missing kid, an electrical box that was hit by a DUI driver and it was then on fire. And last but not least, we had a fire in an apartment bldg, where the fire was in an elderly man's apartment, and he was handicapped. Thanking the neighbors that got him out, we were pulling our hair out!!!!!!! It doesn't sound so bad, but in reality if you all knew how much work goes into each of these events, it is absolutely insane!! Whew! Glad we survived! Now, on to wedding stuff. Rob and I met with our Pastor for the first of 4 sessions. It was good, and he was great! Let me tell you, I am excited, he is really cool, and he reminds me of my Dad. How? you ask, well, First, he has the same shaped head and it's shaved bald, just like Dad's, and he also had the same shaped glasses as Dad's were, and last but not least, he has like the SAME blue eyes as Dad's!! He is great, and I feel really comfortable being married by him, and he doesn't make you feel silly if you don't know some things. He explains everything really well, and has a great deep and loud voice. Yay! I got our unity candle and holders, I will put up pictures after this. Lately, I am trying to get some songs together for the day. We are soooooo excited to be getting the responses from everyone, it is so much fun! So far, there has only been one day that we didn't get any. Well, that is about all that my brain will let me write for now. I hope you all are doing well, and I hope to see you at my shower, and then at the wedding! I can't wait!! Live Laugh Love

MUST have twice baked potato!!!!

As many of you know, we went to our tasting on Thursday. It was very different, wasn't what I expected. To me, it was a little disorganized. So, we got there a little before 6, and the doors were open, and no one around, so we went to look around, and show Jordan and Brian what it was like. We weren't touching anything, and weren't hurting anything when we got shooed out. Some like barely 20 year old came and said we aren't ready yet, we said ok, and she kept saying it, then she proceeds to ask me 3 times what do you have left to do to plan your wedding? I wanted to say, "we aren't ready yet", and leave it at that, but I fancied her question and said lots of little stuff. Even after I answered her question, she asked it again, so I just walked faster, and hoped that she would leave me the heck alone!! Then I ignored her. So once they opened the doors, and officially let us in, we just barely got in there, and were looking at the cheese table they had, I got like one piece of cheese on my plate and they were calling us in the room to be seated, but not everyone, just us. I thought that was a little weird, then started to realize that maybe they were staggering people in, which ended up being what they were doing. Ok, so we went in the room, and were seated, and had the owner guy come up to our table and proceeded to talk to us about how the night would go, well do you think Rob could let the guy get 2 words in before he was telling him about us and our wedding? OMG!!!! I think I finally realized that he has some major ADD! Sheesh! Ok, so enough bad talking Rob. He told us what would happen is that they would bring out the soups, and the salads, and then we could order 3 entree's, with a plate of potatoes and veggies, and then would be some kind of dessert if we stuck around long enough. Well, we started with the soups, and they brought out a nice tray that had all the soups in little cups, and were labeled nicely, so we knew what was what. So as we were trying the soups, Brian went to look for more appetizers, since we didn't get any while we were out there. Then, we were only about half way done with the soups when they came and asked if we were ready for the salads. Which, we obviously said no, we need a little more time. So after we decided on the soup we wanted, we were ready for the salads. So they brought out the salads, and they guy rattled them off to us, and boy, let me tell you, if you weren't listening, you would have missed it. As he got to the dressings for the salad, he wasn't even sure what we had there. This time, with the salads, nothing was marked. So, we had to do our best to remember what the guy though everything was. But, we only had 4 dressings there to taste. I thought that was a bummer, and then we had to ask , are there any other dressings that you have that we can choose from?? So, we finally chose a salad, and 3 dressings. Next was the choice of 3 entrees which meant choose 3 meats that you think you might want at your function. So we chose 2 chicken dishes, and a filet dish, because we had wanted to have filet and chicken. So we chose 2 out of the 6 chicken dishes and the filet to try. They came along with a plate of about 8 different potatoes and a plate of about 6 different veggies. So here came the hard part, I thought that the soup and salad were hard to choose....I had another thing comin'. So, we tried the filet and chicken dishes, and quickly came to a conclusion of the chicken we wanted, so that was done, and easy. One was really good, and the other was really bad....so easy! Ok, then came the filet, well, if you like your filet still mooing, then you wouldn't like this one, it was cooked medium, and a little more on the medium well side, no pink, it had a brown sauce on it, and Jordan and I thought it was pretty good. Well, Rob surely didn't. I still am not sure the problem he had with it, but now there is still a big debate on this one....will tell you more about that later. We also had the plates of potatoes and veggies, well, again, if you didn't listen the first time they told you, you wouldn't get it, guess what?!? Rob didn't get it. OMG!!! I wanted to scream! So, we tasted the potatoes and Jordan and I thought there was WAY too much of an onion taste in the twice baked potato. Well, I should go back here a little, let's just say when Rob dreampt about his wedding as a kid, he dreampt of TWICE BAKED POTATOES!!!!!! Because there was nothing that was going to change his mind!! Until we got a second plate of potatoes and a better explanation of them, when he decided that we were right, and unless you like lots of onions, then you wouldn't like them, so we got him to be ok with the garlic mashed potatoes and that is what everyone will get, unless you are the groom, cause he is still getting his dream of twice baked potatoes! Ok, whew! Wait, we aren't done there. Now we have to talk about the veggies, we all watched as Rob took 2 different kinds of green beans, and ate them, he was like "WOW, did you taste the asparagas? It was great!" Well, Jordan was laughing her butt off as I am trying to explain to Rob that he just ate green beans. And by now the whole table was laughing as he argued with me that he knows what he took, and what he just ate, and that I am some kind of an idiot and must be psycho. Well, finally he took the asparagas and ate it and then was like ack, gross, ok now I know what you mean....let me tell you, he still wouldn't tell me that I was right!! Yup, thats what its like living with a Kniskern! Oh boy! It was a fun, yet weird night. Ok, now I have to tell you about the filet issue that we are still having. even now. I liked it, Rob thought it was disgusting. He claims he didn't like the brown sauce, so we had our wedding planner come and talk to us about what we can do, so this Wednesday, we (only me and Rob) are going to taste the different sauces that they can do for the filet. Hopefully we will have a decision on Wednesday about the filet. OMG OMG OMG!!!! That was VERY difficult, yet fun! I have puposly left out what you are officially eating, as I will let you know when we decide everything on wednesday, cause things are bound to change, with Rob having anything to do with it! Wow, that is about all I have for tonight, I feel like I have been typing for a year! Live, Laugh, Love!

our rings

Here are our rings, mine is a little hard to see, because there is so much bling on it....he he!! I love it, I also LOVE Rob's ring, his is a tungsten metal, so it's a little darker than most rings, but he picked it out and he loves it too. Mine is the same as the picture I posted a while back, just hard to tell, cause its sooooooo sparkly!!

bridesmaid dress colors

Here is Kim in her dress, this is what the bridesmaid's dresses will look like, this is just a dry run of her trying it on for the alterations person.

Rob's mom's dress

This is Cathy's dress, I just love it on her, she tried on another dress, but she fidgeted with it on, and when she came out in this one, her face lit up, that was good to see, and she likes it too! I think Rob will be pleasantly surprised when he see's his mom in this dress!!

my mom's dress

With and without the jacket....I love this dress on her! I looks soooooo nice! It's actually really sparkly too, you just can't tell from the picture.

blinded by the beauty of the G35

Hi Guys!! I just realized that I haven't written anything in a while, so I decided to write today....the last time, I wrote I was a little emotional, this time, I am stressed, to say the least...I guess it's my own fault, I am just really stressed that we are not going to have enough money to pay for everything for our wedding.....eeeeeekkkkk!!!!!! Its just getting closer and closer, and our money is getting lower and lower....and Rob is not getting many leads....rrrrrrgggggghhhhh!!!!!! Ok, thanks for listening, now I am better, anyway, I am still in the process of getting the invitations all put together and it's going ok, I (I should say "we", me and Cheryl) have folded everything, and put the invitations together, and tied all the bows, now all I have to do is get names written on the inner envelope, and then get them all stuffed!!!!! Rob and I got the maps printed, I actually figured most of it out, and then my bud helped me get the names on the streets, for some reason, I just couldn't get that part....Thanks Bud!!! You Rock!!!!! Ok, so, on to the reason my title is the way it is today, so there I was, just driving along, on Ridge Rd, here in the HP, and on my way to work, when I almost didnt make it TWICE!!!!! First, this lady, I swear she was looking right at me, decided to just drive over the double yellow line, and almost hit me head on! Luckily, there was a small shoulder area there for me to swerve to avoid her.....sheesh! Then, about 3 blocks later, a full sized yellow bus, where the driver was looking down and fidgeting with something, decided to do the same thing, but not as bad....he went back in his lane after realizing he was heading right towards me!! So, I have come to the conclusion that they must have been blinded by the beauty of my G35!!!!!!! Thats all there is to it, I mean, its pretty and all, and for the most part, kinda clean......that must be it!!!! he he! Let's see....what else is new, not much, I got some rooms reserved at the hotel for the wedding for any guests that want to stay. And, we got the maps printed and they even cut them out for us too!! That was great! On monday, I have to meet with the florist that we decided to hire, and change a few things and then give her the down payment to reserve our date....Oh, and Rob and I went to register at Bed Bath and Beyond, well, first I surely didnt leave enough time, and we so ran out of time, and only got a few things registered for.....so, on tuesday, we are going back, we will probably spend the whole day there.....there's lots of wish list stuff!!! So, our registry should be online, and soon it will be complete...exciting stuff!! But, can someone please explain to me while registering for stuff, why is it that if I want something, why Rob has to ask "what do you need that for?" or "are you really going to use it?" but when he wants to first say no, we dont need a toaster, but then sees one that is for 4 slices, decides that is the one that we MUST have!! Really? Men, I tell ya!! But I love him, and OMG, I can't believe that I am marrying him in less than 3 months!!!! He finally told me today that he is no longer nervous that everything goes well, he is now excited to get married and knows it will all go good. Well, I think I have written my fair share today, I am gonna go now and figure out what to do now for the next 2 hours, the time is soooooooooo sssssssssssslllllllllllllooooooooooowwwwwwww today!!!!!! Emotional night...

Last night was a bit of an amotional night for me, for some reason... I don't know how many of you keep up with or watch Grey's Anatomy, or Private Practice, well, Rob and I record those and watch them together when I get home on Thursday nights. So, after Rob was done complaining that my chai tea smelled gross, and covering his nose with his blanket and acting like the spoiled child that he is, we watched our shows, and apparently, last night was just not a good time for me to be watching a show where there was a lady on the show that had a brain aneurysm, but was alive and they were going to do surgery, and she would live, ok, so that pulls at my heart strings, because my Dad, he unfortunately was one who did not make it after a brain aneurysm. I miss him so badly, and I wish he was here to see everything for my wedding, cause I know that he would be proud, and be excited for me. And of course, I wish he was here to walk me down the aisle. It will be a sad and happy day all at once. So, then we were watching Private Practice, and there were some parents of a 10 year old girl that lost their house to foreclosure, and they couldn't pay for the girls upcoming surgery, so they abandoned her at the doctors office, and said they didnt want her anymore. Then later in the show, someone said, she has no parents! And that made me just cry and cry and cry, because that is the feeling I get from time to time, since my Dad passed away, and my mom ran away. I know I am 30, but it still hurts, I can only imagine what my sister and brother feel too, it's not good for any of us, but I know we all try our best to hide our feelings on a day to day basis. I just don't understand how my mom claims she wants to start our relationship over, but yet fails to call me or when she does call me, she is more interested in her boyfriend that she couldn't care less what I am saying. And I know what some of you are thinking that I should call her, but as the situation stands, it is not something that I did that made our relationship fail in the first place. Not only that, but I want to see how long it takes her to call me, seeing as though she said she wouldn't miss my wedding, and still hasn't called to ask anything about how it's going or anything. Not only that, but she is the mother of the bride, and she needs a pretty dress. We will see what happens. Well, I guess I should bite my tongue, I just listened to my messages on my cell phone and one of my messages was her, and she called! My mom called to see how things are going with me and with the wedding planning. WOW!!! That makes me happy, that it seems like she cares, especially because today is a day that I feel like she doesn't....it just gets to me sometimes, you know, most of the time I can block it out and pretend like it doesn't hurt me, even though it does. Either way, I know it takes a toll on all three of us, the fact that we lost our Dad, our rock that held our family together, our hero that protected us and showed us the way, and our teddy bear, because even though with Dad's long beard, he looked like he could be mean, but he surely was our teddy bear, he loved unconditionally, (and I know that for a fact, cause we all know I have made some stupid decisions in my life), and Dad loved me and was there for me no matter what!!!! And then, now the fact that our mom moved away to south carolina, and here we are, all of a sudden, in the same year, with no parents. I never thought I would be "that girl with no parents" but I am now. Like I said I know I am 30, and very much old enough to take care of myself, and fend for myself, and make my own decisions, however, it still feels good to have your parents here with you to talk to and ask questions to, and all of that. Not only that, but I do my best to help out my brother, and point him in the right direction on new things that he has never had to do before. He is doing a good job, and I must say better than I thought, he would be, but he is getting through, he just needs to find a new job now...that is the next step on Adam's journey. I must thank Cheryl, she is a GREAT helper, she so far has helped me with our invitations, she has helped fold, and fold and fold. Tomorrow is our day to tie, tie, and tie.....the ribbons that is. So, THANK YOU, Cheryl! You are awesome!! Even though I realize that I probably drive you crazy sometimes, you still like me! Yay!! Thanks! Thanks to all of you who are reading this, and giving me a reason to keep blogging! Live, Laugh, Love.

Potty Chills

WARNING!!!! This posting is going to be long! I have soooooo much to tell you all!!!!!! Ok, so where do I start? My weekend, which consists of the two wonderful days of Tuesday and Wednesday, yes, that's right the middle of the week...such fun! Well, let me just tell you, I had lots of wedding fun these past 2 days. First, on Tuesday, my brother came over, and we hung out while Rob ran a lead, that didn't work out, then we all went to the new tux shop called Formally Modern Tux. We met with a really nice and cool guy named Scott, and he showed us the colors that he had, which did not match my little swatch of my color that I had with, so he explained to us the new "trend" that consists of the groomsmen and best man wearing black vests and "pop" the color with the tie that they wear, so that is what we decided to do, the best man and groomsmen will wear a black tux, off white shirt, black vest and the color tie, the ushers will wear the same with a silverish tie, and Adam and Bob (Rob's dad) will wear the same but a black tie, and my wonderful groom will wear the black tux, off white shirt, ivory vest and ivory tie. I am actually really excited, I think the guys will look sharp! Then we went on to Hooters to eat some wings, and fried pickles! Yummy!!!! After that, we went bowling, but of course, we all did bad.....dont know why, well I shouldn't say that, Adam did decent, only one bad game, the other 2 were 170's games. Then, Adam and I went to the mall and ordered the serving utensils, champagne flutes and the guest book. That was fun, they will be here in about 2 weeks or so, can't wait! So, wednesday, I went to order the flower girl dress, so, while I was there, the lady told me that the bridesmaid dresses were in, and that they sent me a card to make an appointment to come and pick them up. So I asked if I could get them now, and she said yes, and your veil is here too, so I asked about the head piece, and guess what, that was there too, and she let me take it all home!!!!!!! Yay!!!! OMG, let me just tell you that it is getting more and more real as the days go by!! The bridesmaid dresses area BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! I asked Rob if he thinks they will look better than me, and he said I hope not, you are the bride, and you will be stunning! That was cute! So I told Rob that he could not see my headpiece, he told me that's not fair, and that he already can't see the dress, so I explained that it is part of the whole ensemble, so he said I am right and that he wants to be stunned! So, hopefully he will be!!!!!!!!!!! So, I'm gonna get a little gross here, but here I go........so, sometime during the course of those 2 days, Rob and I were getting in the car, and we were freezing, of course, and Rob shivered, and he said oh, that was like when you are done peeing and get the chills......I was really confused, so I didn't say anything, and just acted like ok, sure, that happens to girls too.......but then last night, I went to dinner with some of my old Hollister friends, Ada and Tim, and we were talking and that came up, and they guy that was there said the same thing, I was like wait a minute, this just came up with Rob and I and I don't get it , cause it doesn't happen to me, its just kinda weird.....and Ada agreed, it doesnt happen to her either, so I have decided either we are just weird, or this just happens to men! So, I told Ada that I was going to name my next post "potty chills" cause I guess thats what they are called.....WEIRD! Next, I would like to say that maybe I will be surprising Rob with my boots under my dress!! So far I have 4 out of 4 that say I should wear the boots!!! Yeah baby!! What else, oh, I just went and paid $200 in stamps for our invitations, so I can start putting them together!!! Probably with Cheryl's help! Thanks Cheryl! You are the best!! Fun stuff!! Good news, Rob talked to his dad yesterday, and he says in just the last week, he is feeling better, and moving around more, and can't wait to get out of the house, so we are happy, he is healing well!!! And can't wait to continue bowling with them on Tuesdays! I think that is all for now, I am gonna get going now, I have some stamps to be putting on envelopes!! Live, Laugh, Love!

"Um, there's a fox on my street"

Last I wrote, our invitations were delivered, and so I went home that night, and ta da! they were awesome! I like them more in person than I thought I would. So then, Kim (my sister) and I took Rob and Ben out to dinner for their birthdays, and Adam (my brother) was there too, but before that, on that day, Rob, Adam and I ate at a mexican restaurant, then Adam and I went shopping, and as we were shopping, I bet Adam $10 that he couldn't finish his dinner, cause we recently ate....well well well, was I wrong! Man, that kid stuffed himself, one minute he had a full plate and the next, it was empty as he was taking his last bite, I said I think I owe Adam 10 bucks...then a little later, he had a bit of a tummy ache, and said I will never eat that much again! Even though I owe him $10, I kinda think I won, cause he did it but was hurting afterwards!! ha ha! So, at that same dinner, we were talking about the invitations and I was telling Kim that I have to put them together, and with all the bows and everything, then Rob popped up and said "she did a really good job on them, I am impressed". I thought that was so sweet, since he usually doesnt put his feeling out there like that, and I felt good! Big smile and a hug from me! So, you will all just have to wait to see them, I am not gonna put a picture up, because that will ruin the surprise, but then again, I put a pic of the favors and the programs, ok, well, what the heck, I will get one up sooner or later, but just the outside, you have to read the inside for yourself.... An update on Rob's dad is that his surgery went well, and he is at home recovering, and so far so good. He was able to have the gallbladder removed through the belly button. As far as we know, everything is going good, and he is already wanting to come out and watch us bowl, so he can get out of the house. So, tomorrow is the super bowl, and ask me if I care, I will be here at work with my FAVORITE person, that likes to make stupid comments, just so I will say something, I am telling you, he hates me bad! Oh well, it's good to know that some of the officers noticed that he treats everyone like shit in here, and they are not happy about it....we will just see if anything gets done about it. That's about it for now, hope you all are doing well, and still reading my blog! Make sure to Live, Laugh and Love!
